From ‘Modern Family’ to ‘Glee’ The Revolution of the Fem-Gay Character in Modern Television By Bryan Keating on May 16, 2017 5:47 pm Fun fact: the LGBTQ Community has subcultures within its letters. L esbian.  G ay.  B isexual.  T ransgender.  Q ueer. Plenty of us, including myself, represent a subgenre known as the Feminine – or Fem – Gay . Over the last few years of television, I’ve witnessed the rise of the fem-gay and I want to talk to you about it. In my case, I came out in the womb. Seriously, I was likely flirting with the baby boy next to me in the maternity ward. In other words, the fem-gay has always been out . We are put in something that most would describe as a “glass closet”. We never really have to tell anyone our sexuality, since it’s obviously branded across our faces and embedded into our personalities before we learn to read or box-dye our hair for the first time. For the last 17 years, I’ve witnessed the televised ‘Fem-Gay Revolution.’ Primetime’s

AUSTIN — One bill would make it legal to decline adoption services to gay couples. Another could deny them marriage licenses. Others would bar transgender Texans from using the public bathroom of their choice. Supporters of the bills circulating in the Texas Legislature this session say they’re intended to protect the religious rights of citizens or maintain safety in public bathrooms. Critics counter they’re an unprecedented attack on LGBT rights. Gay rights activists count 24 bills introduced into the Legislature this session they say infringe on the rights of LGBT residents in Texas — more than any other time in state history. The bills are a new front in the attack on LGBT rights by Texas’ Republican-led Legislature following a ke

Israeli research successful in identifying possible HIV, AIDS cure  By  KATIE BEITER / THE MEDIA LINE         November 2, 2016 18:18 Researchers at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem have identified a protein called Gammora that they say can reduce HIV, Human Immunodeficiency Virus, in infected patients by 97 percent. This sexually transmitted retrovirus, which is the precursor to the deadly Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), is currently treated with drugs that slow its progression; however, as of now, there is no cure for HIV positive patients. The virus is smart and it is ever changing so there are patients who resist the drugs,” Hebrew University Prof. Zev Sthoeger, head of internal medicine department A at Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot, which will host clinical trials of Gammora in the future, told The Media Line. “We want to invent new mechanisms we hope will help us cure the virus,” Sthoeger added.
